Tours at the currier museum of art
The Currier Museum of Art believes in fostering a relationship between the visitor and the works of art in the museum’s collection. Docents and museum educators work to actively engage visitors, encouraging them to describe what they see and think about their reactions, drawing on each visitor’s unique personality and experience.
Assistive listening systems are available for all public and private tours.
public Tours
Public tours are available every day at 1 pm and last approximately one hour. Tours include general highlights of the museum’s collection and an introduction to special exhibitions. Public tours are free with admission.
Focus Tours
Focus Tours provide an in-depth examination and discussion of a particular work, period, artist, or theme. These tours are scheduled periodically and are free with museum admission.

private Tours
Private tours may be scheduled on a variety of topics. For more information about private tour offerings or to schedule a tour complete a Tour Request Form or call the Group Tours Administrator at 603.669.6144 x 113.
Private Tour Pricing
Adults: $10.00 per person for admission, plus $45.00 for each group of 15
Seniors: $9.00 per person for admission, plus $45.00 for each group of 15.
Group Rate: Book your self-guided or docent-led group tour (of 10 or more) in advance and receive discounted admission of $8.00 per person!
Private Tour Themes
We are happy to offer a variety of themes for private tours. Each of the tours listed below are about one hour long.
1. Welcome to the Currier 
The Visit of the Gypsies, c. 1510, Unknown Franco-Flemish, wool and silk
This tour includes collection highlights, museum history, and exploration of special exhibitions throughout the year.
2. Introduction to Exploring Art 
Cous Cous, 1961-2, Joan Mitchell, oil and acrylic on canvas
This tour will help visitors explore the basic tools and tips for looking at art and examining color, line, and form; artistic movements; and changes in art history.
3. From Anonymous to Aponovich: New Hampshire History in Art

James Aponovich, Still Life with Chocolates, 1984.
This tour focuses on New Hampshire-based artists, or artists who have some connection to the region, from early colonial to contemporary artists.
4. Women in Art

Cross By the Sea, 1932, Georgia O’Keeffe, oil on canvas
This tour will focus on works by and of women from the earliest eras in the collection to contemporary art. Explore the lives and styles of women artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Lila Cabot Perry, Louise Nevelson and others, and learn how artists have depicted the female subject.
5. European and American Impressionism 
Seine at Bougival, 1869, Claude Monet, oil on canvas
See paintings from the era of capturing light and daily life in Europe and America. Explore works by artists such as Claude Monet, Childe Hassam, and Edmund Tarbell.
