Mama Benz and the Taste of Money details the interplay between a young ambitious European and an equally ambitious African market woman as they jockey for advantage to market cloth in a new territory. It reveals the differences in their business attitudes as they struggle for dominance and ultimately realize their mutual dependence. Following the film, Ugochukwu-Smooth Nzewi, newly appointed Curator of African Art at the Hood of Art Museum at Dartmouth College, will speak about the impact of trade on textile goods produced and used across the continent of Africa.
