First Thursdays LIVE 
First Thursdays feature live music, an opportunity to view the museum’s collection of European and American art and special exhibitions, gallery talks, a chance to mingle with other art and music lovers, and complimentary snacks. A cash bar and full menu is available at the cafe. Come see what we have to offer!
First Thursday LIVE programs are free for members, $10 for non-members

February 2 - Jared Steer Trio
Experience jazz by the Jared Steer Trio. Jared has played with many famous musicians including the drummer with the Bee Gees, the bassist for Boston, and has recorded award-winning albums with Ben Rudnick and Friends. Also, check out our annual Art Center Faculty Exhibition—the sales of which benefit the Art Center’s scholarship fund!

Call for Musicians!
Are you a musician looking for an opportunity to perform in a prestigious public setting? We are seeking experienced musicians to perform for our First Thursdays series of programming scheduled the first Thursday of each month from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.  All genres will be considered, including jazz, world music, rock and roll, classical, bluegrass, and swing.

The museum provides compensation for First Thursday performances in the amount of $350. Applications will be taken on a rolling basis.


Photo Slam - Call for Submissions
Submit your photos for a chance to have one on view at the museum! Twelve artists whose work captures a new look at the world around us—in keeping with our special exhibition A New Vision: Modernist Photography—will be chosen to present their work on Saturday, April 21. After the presentations, visitors will vote to decide the recipient of the Vistors’ Choice Award. Download the submission form for more information and enter by Wednesday, February 29.

Film Screening: Strand: Under the Dark Cloth 
Tuesday, March 13, 6 pm
This documentary provides a fascinating, in-depth look at the life, relationships, and creative process of famed photographer Paul Strand, whose work is featured in A New Vision: Modernist Photography. The film includes interviews with Strand’s contemporary Georgia O’Keeffe, whose work is also included in the exhibition.

Currier Online Book Club
Do you belong to a book club or know someone who does? This online book club is designed to be a resource for existing book clubs to link works of literature to art on view at the museum. To launch this program, we’ve paired Ralph Ellison’s novel Invisible Man with Glenn Ligon’s paintings Invisible Man (Two Views).

Participating is easy! Just download the information and discussion questions here, use them within your group, then call 603.669.6144 x 113 to request our special book club tour. Tours feature Glenn Ligon’s Invisible Man and other works in the collection that connect with themes relevant to the painting and novel.

Enjoy NYC in the spring! The coach departs from the Catholic Diocese of Manchester (153 Ash Street) promptly at 6:30 am. Arrive in Manhattan about 11:30 am to spend the day in the city. Re-board the coach at 7 pm to arrive back to the Diocese about 11:30 pm.
